Is your home or office due a renovation?

Removing existing floor tiles is a back breaking job.  But we make light work of it here at GC Floor Prep with our high end equipment and fully trained staff.

We remove all types of indoor and outdoor tiles from ceramic floor tiles, slate, terracotta, porcelain and natural stone.

Generally speaking we will use a jackhammer or floor lifting machine to remove the existing tiles. Then depending on the renovation we may need to remove screed.  Screed can often be found in wet areas or anywhere where they needed to create fall during the initial build.  Or if there are two areas of differing floor heights and screed was needed to bring one section to the same height as another.  Screed is also generally removed with a jack hammer which on occasion can be an extremely challenging part of the project.

Sometimes when we lift up one layer of tiles we’ll find another layer underneath! And sometimes even another under that! – all our rates are charged per m2, and per layer of tiles. Once all the tiles and possibly screed is removed we then go over the slab with a concrete grinder to prepare the surface ready for the new flooring.
